Description:
A specially modified version of our unique water dispersed, liquid synthetic
rubber membrane, containing integral linear micro fibre reinforcement.
Aussietex I is specially designed
to eliminate blistering and wrinkling that may occur in exposed or ponded
situations, as it does not require the general use of reinforcing fabric.
Uses:
Aussietex I is ideally suited
to indoor and outdoor applications, including roofing, box gutters, balconies,
sill or window flashings, podium decks, planters, water features, landscaped
areas, bathrooms and wet areas. It can be applied to most prepared surfaces
encountered in construction. Aussietex I
is suitable for waterproofing of foot traffic areas on balconies, roofs,
ramps, plant room floors and stadium concourse or service areas .

Preparation:
Surfaces to be waterproofed must be sound, smooth and free from dust,
loose matter, oil, grease or other contaminants. All surface defects shall
be repaired using a modified mortar. Use a polyurethane sealant to fill
joints, cracks and form fillets to internal corners and penetrations
Application:
Priming:
For internal wet areas, tiled decks, walls, sills or flashings, apply
one coat of 100W water based primer
For exposed decks, car park slabs, sumps, pits, pools and water features,
apply one coat of 100W water based primer @ 6 – 10 m²/litre.
Detailing:
Detail all joints, cracks, outlets, penetrations and internal corners
with a 150mm strip of fibreglass matt bedded between two heavy coats of
Aussietex I and centred over the
joint. Apply a heavy brush coat of Aussietex I
to all other penetrations, internal corners and shrinkage cracks.
Application of Continuous Membrane:
Apply Aussietex I membrane liberally
by brush, squeegee or roller in two or more flow coats to minimum 1.0mm
DFT. Allow to dry fully between coats. Coating application should be made
in a cross direction to previous coat to ensure even coverage.
Surfacing:
Aussietex I membrane is foot trafficable
within 8 hours. Use following systems for specific situations as listed.
Apply surfacing materials only to fully cured Aussietex
I.
- Tanking
- Cover with protection board followed by backfill or landscaping
- Tiles
- Ceramic tiles may be laid on a mortar bed or otherwise fixed directly
with fully guaranteed with adhesive
- Rigid Surfaces
- 0.2mm PE slip sheet with concrete topping
- Paving slabs on multi pads or bedding
- Polymer modified render or textures
- Traffic Areas – Car Parks
- Apply Tuffcote Duratop at 4m²/litre.Allow 24 hours drying
before exposing to foot traffic
- Decorative Coatings
- Blockflex high build coating exterior acrylic paints, roll on
textures or sand filled PP grass
- Insulated – Thermal
- Insul-Foam closed cell insulation board to provide guaranteed
thermal insulation
- Insulated – Acoustic
- Use Sound-Shield or Sound-Kontrol insulation system under tiles
to give the required acoustic value
Coverage:
Total consumption for the Aussietex I
membrane system is approximately 1.5 – 2mm DFT.
Packaging:
Aussietex I is packed in 15 litre
plastic pails for the domestic market and in 20 litre metal pails for
export.
Shelf Life:
Unopened or resealed pails of Aussietex I
has a shelf life of 2 years when stored in a dry, cool place.
